Aren't we all the children of god?

So why was jesus boasting about being the only son of god. What? The rest of us are adopted?

God is like nothing,so he has no children.Jesus is just a messenger by God.Humans give birth and get children ,but God is God- is like nothing.

No. “And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.” [Romans 8:9]

We are all His creatures and therefore we, as thinking creatures, are called to learn, explore and obey the Truth so that we can become sons (and daughters).

"Then if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature." <The New Creatures are the adopted ones> [2 Corinthians 5:17]; [Ephesians 1:5]; [Galatians 4:4-7].

“Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord…” And then will I profess unto them, “I never knew you: depart from Me…” [Matthew 7:22]

No, you are a child of Adam, adam was created by God. However if you repent of your sins. (we all have lied, stolen, cursed...) And trust that Jesus the Christ has paid the penalty for your sin on the cross. Then God will adopt you as His child into His family. . .

Well you might not be too far from the truth. Jesus is more like the true son of God, most like him, and we are more like adopted sons (or daughters). We have Gods original nature within us but our nature is somewhat compromised so we have trouble relating to God, recognizing his voice. Human beings basically , even though are born with God,s nature within them tend to have more like a goat nature who is a bit rebellious and does not recognizes a master as opposed to a sheep nature who recognizes it,s master. The good news is that even though we might be born more like adopted sons(or daughters) we can become truer sons or daughters!

The scriptures tell us that Jesus is the only BEGOTTEN Son of God. The angels were also the sons of God, and we are His offspring according to God's design. But we are not directly God's children until we are "born again." The Apostle Paul gives us a definition of what that means in Titus 3, the first several verses. And when that happens, we are adopted into God's Chosen Family.

You can think that , but you will never know until you prov that a god exists.  STOP! You have no evidence for a god now nor hs there ever been any anywhere. The same is applied to the character in the NT named Jesus.

Exactly. Jesus was literally the Son of God, since God caused His mother to become pregnant with Him. The rest of us are adopted children of God.

Well there ya go. Jesus and His Father loves for there to be broken families. You know how he has a fetish for adopting people instead of...

No one is a child of God ever unless they are given the RIGHT to become children of God.

Therefore if you have a child and God does not have favor with you then He considers them not your child. Now that is mean.

Jesus was the only "begotten" son of God. Yes, the rest of us are adopted children of God...if we want to be.

  • Where did you get the idea that we are all the children of god?

I don't remember any gospel writers ever claiming Jesus said he was the only son of god.  John claimed he said no one could get to the father except through him, but the gospel of John is so radically different in theology that it probably doesn't represent the true words of the itinerant rabbi called Jesus.
