what is the psychological tactic called of accusing your opponent of what you are doing yourself?

for example accusing them of lying , when you are the one that is lying and you know that. how it is suppose to affect their thinking? can elaborate , give other examples of this? (i picked a basic example)

    Being manipulative.

    When you want out a relationship and don't want to be known as the bad person. Accuse them of cheating. Or even set them up to cheat to be caught cheating.
