I think this is meant as a trick question to see if you are paying attention to the wording.
It says that is maintains its speed as it travels from point A to point B. If the speed is 25m/s at point A and 25m/s at point B then the average acceleration is 0m/s during that 8s span.

Please do not imagine that the acceleration is zero. This may not be true.
We cannot know the answer. SPEED IS NOT VELOCITY. If the car is changing direction its velocity alters but its speed does not.
We can only give the acceleration for this problem if we know that the car does not change its direction during the motion. The magnitude of the acceleration must lie between 0 and 50/8 = 6.25 m/s
I am surprised that Bill and az_lender have not spotted this detail. They are both good responders.
