Do they still say, "you can take them out the hood, but you can't take the hood out of them"...🤔?

A popular saying I heard a lot growing up.

Anyone ever wonder what exactly they were referring to ..🤔

Spirit and/or CULTure.....

And what position "they" see US people from the hood....

Was this only directed at BLACK people from the hood🤔

    Mentalities are not controlled by others but by the individuals themselves.

    It means you don't lose your heritage even if you make it big you still come from what you come from, and it's sort of implied that you don't really change too much. Sort of like old habits die hard I guess.

    Yes, only black persons . . . . when I grew-up it was "jungle" instead of "hood".
