was prohibition not one of the most stupid and corrupt laws ever in the usa? (I mean besides slavery)?

it was just to allow rich sleaze balls to sell alcohol illegally at crazy high prices as well as fund judges, courts and lawyers just like they do now with cannabis?

    It wasn't well thought out. Because of the popularity of alcohol/drinking, there was widespread disobedience of the law which led to the rise of organized crime in the US.

    Whenever American CONServatives successfully pass legislation, we end up with the Volstead Act, The House Committee on UnAmerican Activities and a Trickle Down Economy.
