What is Texas going to do about the price gauging with the electric companies?
For those that say it was in their contract it is still inexcusable to condone economic exploitation
Since some of the people that answered obviously don't know what price gouging is here is the definition Price gouging occurs when a seller increases the prices of goods, services or commodities to a level much higher than is considered reasonable or fair.

Nothing
Republicans don't care how much corporations rip off the citizens.
Republicans never have been and never will be "for the people"

How is anyone supposed to know this? Seriously, what do you want f/ us? The word "deregulation" is as pleasing to a rightie's ear as the word "socialism" is displeasing. The crisis is a result of deregulation. This is known. Don't expect people to NOW be able to peel back the layers in complicated equations when 'surface' words are so effective.

Those people could have asked for a fixed rate, as many did. Some took a gamble, and lost. It was in the contract they signed.

During a pandemic and a statewide black out if your electric bill was $200 a month and now it is $20,000 than that is price gauging

It’s not price gouging
The contracts a few people signed stated that they get much cheaper rates during normal times and much more expensive rates during times of shortages
