If a woman doesn’t want some dude waltzing into her restroom to get his jollies, does that make her transphobic?

I’ve seen several SJWs state that.  Do you agree?

Yes, they are a transphobe. People need to go to the bathroom somewhere. It's 2021, Trump is no longer president. They need to get over it.

By the way, what's stopping a non transsexual male from entering the women's bathroom to spy on them doing their business?

The only way to remove that guy is by calling security, but if he has no Morales and doesn't care about the privacy of women, there is no stopping him from entering the restroom in the first place.

In reality, plenty of women are very welcoming of male to female trans entering women's restrooms. Because ultimately, that is who they are.

The false premise people are using is to refer to perverts who waltz into a woman’s restroom as transgender.    Guys who waltz into women’s restrooms are perverts, not transgender.  Therefore complaining about them can’t be transphobic.

A woman should be able to use the toilet knowing that no men are inside tossing themselves off or learing. End of story

I feel unless somebody has actually gone through with the surgery, they should stick to going into there birth assigned sex restrooms respectively.

Restrooms are based on sex.   A guy who has had sex reassignment surgery and had their sex legally changed  should be able to use the women’s room.  A dude waltzing into the women’s room and saying he has the right to be there because he feels like a woman today is something completely different.   Objecting to the latter is not transphobic.  It seems that Biden’s recent executive order allows the latter unfortunately.  Hopefully that will be challenged and overturned.

Its transphobic to assume that's what trans women do which is often the argument that is made. Its not transphobic to not want "some dude waltzing into a womens restroom to get his jollies". Allowing trans women to use the womens bathroom does not make that legal.

"I don't want to risk sharing a restroom with someone who suffers from a literal mental illness"

Then never use public bathrooms. Many people have mental illness. Depression and anxiety are a couple common ones. Being trans is not a mental illness however so by your own logic you are ok with trans people using the correct bathroom.

"the fact that there are so many creeps who would take advantage of being able to be alone in a restroom with little girls. "

Allowing trans women to use the right bathroom does not make it legal for a man to creep on little girls nor does it increase the rates of this happening. If some guy wants to creep do you think a law banning trans women from the womens bathroom is going to stop him? No. He will walk right in anyway. He is about to commit a crime of creeping on a little girl. He gives no f*cks about laws about trans people.

    Pretty much.  Yeah.

Think of it this way:  The major objection we've heard to bathrooms that cater to who a person identifies as rather than their birth sex is that people will rape or sexually assault people.

Rape is still illegal.  Sexual assault is still illegal.

OK, but so maybe a person that I object to is more likely to have private access to do the crime if she's in my bathroom with me.

Maybe so - but statistics show that even if that was true, that trans is more likely to be a victim of a violent crime than women using public trans friendly bathrooms.  She's more likely to be attacked than any cis woman is.

Indeed, the trans is more likely to be attacked REGARDLESS of what bathroom they use.

Mostly because of people like you that just can't fathom that the gender of the bathroom is NOT the issue to the fear.  People fear trans, some people take that fear out as violence.

VERY few trans have been violent, certainly per capita less than the general population.

Stop acting out of fear and start reading statistics.  Surely what actually happens is more important than what people who have little experience with transgenders fear.

EDIT:  Another answerer here is saying that the questioner was asking about perverts, not trans - but that's a red herring.  There are perverts of EVERY gender.  There are certainly female perverts, but we don't try to keep them out of female bathrooms, do we?  Even if you make the argument that there are male perverts, we don't try to keep them out of male bathrooms, do we?

You can always make the argument that all bathrooms should be unisex and individual, but that simply exceeds the cost of what most public buildings want to spend (both in terms of constructing, but also cleaning/maintaining).

Colleges have been making bathrooms unisex with lots of stalls, a few urinals, and showers (with tiny changing areas) for over a decade with no increase in crime.  New Air Craft carriers are also constructed this way.

Eventually, though it will take decades, virtually all Western new construction, will go this route.  It's cheaper and statistically just as safe.

Sure, some people might be creeped out over it, but astronauts have been drinking their own treated urine now for over 5 years.  MUCH more efficient than bringing water up on every re-supply ship.  Realistically, a requirement for deep space.

    They got over it.

    You will too.
