Why do people make such a big deal about QBs who are drafted high?
Since 2000, the average draft position of the super bowl winning QB is 141 which is about the middle of the 4th round.
The only top 5 drafted QBs to win are both named Manning. Mahomes is the only other one to crack the top 10.
58% of super bowl winners were drafted after the first round including Brady(6), Foles(3), Wilson(3), Brees (2) and Brad Johnson (9).
Without Brady you still have the average draft position in the middle of the 2nd round and 62% of the super bowl winners drafted after the top ten.

Because they're the ones projected toi be the best coming out of college but it doesn't always work out that way.

How well a quarterback does in the NFL has less to do with when they were picked, and more to do with the team that picks them. Many of the teams that pick high in the draft are always picking high in the draft because they're run by people who can't build a good football team.

Teams are afraid NOT to pick qbs in top few picks in case they draft a dud instead and become a trivia question for the next 20 yrs because the qb they passed on went on to be a hall of famer.

I would take Peyton Manning over any of those guys, except possibly Brady. And if it was 2008 I would still draft Matt Ryan over Flacco.
