What? No it was going to be 12/21/21, I heard the last 2 numbers of the year were switched.

No.  "A" particular calendar ended at the end of the 12th "Long Cycle," which was at the winter solstice in 2012, but, the 13th began the next day, which other Mayan calendar examples show.

Your "12/21/12" example only works in the USA anyway.
