If we lost all Congress members at once, who would take over?  Do they even have a chain of command to spell this out?

    Yeah, there's a plan. The Governors would appoint interim Senators but the House members would have to be chosen by their constituents in a serious of emergency special elections. If there were more than 100 vacancies those elections must take place no later than 49 days following the event which resulted in the mass of vacancies - unless a general election is to be held within 75 days. But because it would take a while to get a quorum in Congress no new legislation would be presented to the President until some form of Congress was reinstituted.

    Please, don't even say that.  That is unimaginable to even think about it.  The recent Capitol riot could not have even tried to do that.  If they did try, wouldn't we be told about it.  Why did this thought even come into your head?
