What causes fatty liver in skinny people ?

    Fatty liver is excessive accumulation of fat inside the liver cells Sometimes the cause in unknown...A physical examination that reveals an enlarged liver without any symptoms suggest fatty liver.

    The mere presence of excessive fat in the liver is not a serious issue. Treatment aims at eliminating the cause or treating the underlying disorder.

    Fatty liver, alcoholic liver disease, cirrhosis, primary biliary cirrhosis, primary sclerosing cholangitis, and alpha--antitrypsin deficiency are all disorders that appear to result from an injury to the liver.

    Primary biliary cirrhosis is inflammation  and eventual scarring and obstruction of the bile ducts in the liver.

    Primary sclerosing cholangitis is inflammation and eventual scarring and obstruction of the bile ducts inside and out side of the liver.

    Alph-- Antitrypsin deficiency is a disorder in which a hereditary deficiency of alpha-- antitrypsin may cause lung and liver disease.

    Same things that cause fatty liver in other people...chronic fatty diet, chronic alcoholism, too much acetaminophen, viruses that can attack the liver and diseases like hepatitis to name a few.
