what will a cooling pad do for your laptop?

Cools your laptop and prevents it from overheating. Overheating can damage your processor. Other laptop components can be damaged as well but the cpu is the most critical. Once a cpu overheats, the laptop will shut itself off and you will lose all your work. In addition, if you ever place your laptop on your lap while you are using it, it can really burn you.

Cooling pads play a great role for every laptop, especially for a gaming laptop. Laptops can overheat and possibly break if they get choked. When it gets heated, a cooling pad helps in decreasing the temperature up to 4 degrees and also assist the internal fan.

If you're going to be using your laptop all day long in a stationary location it might pay you to get yourself a laptop cooling pad. So that cool air circulates around your laptop and allows your laptop to cool itself. No laptop should have to have a cooling pad for it to run normally if your laptop is overheating it's because there's something wrong like the fan is plugged or you have a buffer overrun

It improves circulation of air around the laptop.
The right way to use a cooling pad is to have the legs raised. This increases the volume of air that circulates under the laptop which helps make the laptop cooler.
In no way should the laptop, with a cooling pad or not, be used on the bed, carpet or non-even surfaces. The cooling pad is equally ineffective on those conditions.
It's not the heat of the bottom of your laptop you should be concerned of. Who checks the bottom anyway? Who places a laptop on their laps anyway? Have you tried it? It's hard to type and angle the screen comfortably at the same time. If the palm rests and the keyboard become warm to touch (don't even let it reach hot), turn the laptop off at once. Laptops weren't meant to run for long periods of time (even with cooling pads underneath them). It's a good thing too. When the laptop is off, that means you can take a rest too.

quite simply, it will cool it.
you see, laptops are all the same parts as a desktop tower, compacted down into a portable form. and even desktops have cooling fans. but with that much hardware close together, the heat grows faster.
so if the bottom of your laptop ever feels REALLY warm, get a cooling pad, and it will cool things down!
ALSO, you should NEVER set a laptop on a non-flat surface, such as carpet, couch or bed, as the exhaust vents get blocked. but with a cooling pad, it's okay :)

Absolutely nothing. A properly designed laptop wouldn't need one, and a poorly designed one would overheat even with one.
