Help my teacher dropped me despite my COVID-19 family emergency?

Question

I wasn’t able to turn in work for 2 weeks because my half of my family was positive of COVID-19 and a few days

 later my dad had to get 4 surgeries in a span of 1 week. (He had a minor heart attack and one major. He got 3 surgeries for it, one was because his valve stint closed.) do as you can imagine my family of 6 with only two working individuals are struggling financially. To add insult to injury, my teacher decided to drop me without a refund. So I have to pay full tuition for a class I barely attended. When she dropped me I lost my financial aid because I was reduced as a part-time student and we don’t qualify. So now I have to pay full tuition. 

My parents don’t know. I don’t have the heart to tell them but at the same time it’s so hard for me. I feel like dying.

I see you indicated in another answer that you are at a fully online school.  I assume it's a for-profit school.  They are notorious for policies and procedures that trip students up, and communication with them is often difficult.

While I understand that you were going through a very difficult time, it was your responsibility to contact the instructor and/or the school to let them know what was going on and/or to the drop the course.  I would try reaching out, with any documentation that you can provide, to see if they will adjust this for you.

so did you bother emailing your teacher at all. I am guessing not. Its an online course you could have found time instead of making excuses.

Update for answers:

The school has a grace period for late work of up to 1 week per week and a 1 month extension after the term if you get too overwhelmed since my school is for working students. I was kind of hoping on that but when I got back she cut off everything. I have the COVID test results and my dad’s medical bills. 

I was unable to tell her because I was busy taking care of my family. I did try to tell her when I could but she already dropped me and I have no way of contacting her. I tried to talk to my counselor but she says she can’t do anything. I’m in an all online college since it’s the only one I can afford.  Okay thank you! I will try to contact them.

It just makes me really frustrated because my school has a 2 week withdrawal policy free of charge and won’t affect my gpa but she dropped me on the 3rd week so I can’t qualify for it.

Did you tell your teacher about what was going on? I have never heard of a teacher being able to drop a student from a university class. What kind of school are you in? Someone needs to talk to the administration. In a university, I would tell you to talk to financial aid. Many schools now have emergency procedures to help students stay in school when there are problems like this.
