And YOU know that given GUN wasn't previously used in a violent crime by the person whom you were so stupid to buy it from because???????

One better; make your own - no wait, no check, no registration, no serial number required (except in CA).

(And yes on most issues I do lean lib, but that is one of the exceptions so...)
