Are 3-month-old babies old enough to be independent?

    Independent to do what????????  A 3-month old can NOT get it's own food, dress itself or change it's own diaper.  It also can NOT talk or walk.

    How independent were you at 3 years old? Maybe you can't remember that far back? What about age 6 or 7?  How do you think you would have felt if your parents said 'You are old enough to fend for yourself, go find your own home? "
