Could be hours, but you need large doses of the virus- more than your system can fight off at once to get infected.   If people wear a mask and don't blow snot all over you, (and you wear a mask to filter out even more) then you have a really good chance of not getting it outside.

It doesn't matter how long it stays in the air.

It disseminates (spreads out) so unless you are in a crowded space, you won't get enough virus membranes to cause infection. 

Less than 2% of cases are attributed to outside events.
