Would it be helpful or hurtful to Biden if he let Mitch McConnell's wife keep her job as Secretary of Transportation?

It might help him with McConnell, but most Republicans aren't that concerned about Elaine Chao or DOT. She's a political appointee, so she has to expect to lose her job.

hurtful. Biden owes the unions that provided campaign money and free labor a lot -- and one of the things the unions want is a pro-union person in that job [and several others] so that they can extort more money from Joe Average for their labor. you'll see this in the form of higher prices.

His entire cabinet are basically never trumper Republicans so Biden will be running a corporate Republican administration, Democrat in name only....under the banner of “return to normal” a normal that led to Trump because normal just doesn’t work for most Americans
What’s one more corporate Republican going to do..

Interesting thought, but,
I'm guessing it would anger Biden's base,
something you don't want to do right before the Georgia Senate runoffs.
It might be one thing if Elaine Chao was actually good at her job; but she's not.
