My mom dug out her old plastic salon rollers with pics and roller set my hair with them 

I am very happy with the result and will use them again.

Plastic rollers and bobby pins.  Stay away from the spongey curlers.

Try Conair or Remington, those brands work fine.

I used to use velcro rollers. But never when my hair was damp, there's more chances of having your hair break. Use rollers when your hair is all most dry.

I always use Conair foam rollers, never damaged my hair, my hair is waist length still healthy! I am 23 and been using them Monday - Friday and occasionally Sunday for church since I was 14!!!
