Full name or initials?

I’d like to

Get a good friend a leather wallet for Christmas with his name engraved on it. Should I go for his initials or full name? He’s got a lovely first name so I was thinking just that? Any ideas what looks best? Thanks

Initials.......full name looks childish 

Traditional monogram would be better

If hes over 12 , then initials. On the inside. And you dont engrave leather
