Why should I be?

Why should I be selfless and kind when no one treats me nicely? If no one cares about me why should I care about other people?

It's your choice. Nobody is telling you what to do.

Because doing the right thing, is the right thing to do.

Because if you don't treat other people well or care about them, you will likely be alone for the rest of your life. If that doesn't bother you however, there's no reason for you to.
