Why does Europe have no trees!?

Question

From a vantage point in NE North America, Canada and more locations therein....We here have forests, trees, woods everywhere (even out to Vancouver Can) except in the few deserts.

You Europeans are 'bare' whether UK France Spain Croatia Greece....every place! Except Moscow Russia and Finland!

So, the '?'  Why won't the 21st century European re forest their lands? 

Do you really like 'mountains' that are just 'hills' of waste bare rock slag heaps, and your once glorious countryside, a moonscape of the most boring...lawns...and moors?

Like 'Montenegro' literally 'Mountain black' (with evergreen forest) is today a bare ugly rock 'Mount Lovcen'. 

Did not the 'Royal Navy' cut down every tree in the UK to build wood ships to defeat Napoleon, and the industrial revolution take what was left?

Ireland...Emerald Isle...is just green moss on bare rock...no?

Trees were cut down to provide fire wood and cleared for Farming.  Many parts of the UK and Europe are densely populated, unlike huge swathes of America, Russia, Finland and Canada.

The deforestation of Europe for agriculture started around the 10th century and continued for about 300 years.

Obviously you haven't been doing your research.  The trees in Europe are all where they have always been, they've just been on strike for the past few years.  It hardly made the headlines, so you can be forgiven for not knowing.

In a consolidated effort to protest climate change, all the trees in Europe have gone on strike since August 15th 2018.  They'll continue to stand, pollinate, and (depending on their species) shed leaves as required, but they have all refused to osmose or convert CO2 to oxygen until their entire list of demands have been met.

I can only assume you have never been to Europe.

Sweden has largest forest cover in Europe with about 28 million hectares representing 68.95% of the country’s total surface area.

About 72% of Finland is under forest cover.

Spain. Spain has 18.4 million hectares of forest cover, which is about 36.7% of the country.

France has 17 million hectares of forest cover which represents 31% of the country.

Despite the threat of deforestation, forests in Europe are faring better than in other continents. Since 1993, forest cover in the continent has increased by about 17 million hectors

NO trees ????? I live in the UK on the edge of a Forest. We have millions of trees, Scotland is stuffed full of them.

Royal Navy cut down all trees, that would have been millions sunshine, you obviously have no idea how big the U.K. is.
