Duck hunting? The only reason I can think of. Never heard of pirates on a lake in a first world country

Navy and Coast Guard personnel of Every country either carry a sidearm or can quickly access a rifle from arms locker. My Daddy was in USN 20 years; was familiarized with M1 Garand, M1A1 Thompson, M1911A1 Colt.
Dumb Question, Dumb Answer...
I had a cousin and two second-cousins recently killed while boating on Table Mtn. Lake , in the Ozarks. . A Nut case ran them down with a speedboat. No, a "gun" might not have "saved" anyone, but S**t Does happen on water, just like on land.
WE don't Need no Steenkeen' "licenses" to Bear Arms, here in AZ.
Ron, if your state is a May -Issue, it's a Privilege( Most are). The few that don't require a CWP (AZ) or are Shall-Issue (AK) are Rights..

You think you can't run into trouble on a on a boat or on the water? Criminals and potential murderers have boats too.
