Are both at fault?
If a driver honks at another driver and then the driver who gets honked at gives them the finger than that driver gets mad and throws something at their car are both drivers at fault?

The driver who throws something is guilty of a crime. The other one is not. And since we're not talking about an accident and negligence, there is no "fault" in the situation anyway.

No. The driver who threw something is at fault. Honking and showing the traffic finger are irrelevant.

No. It's action against action. Gesturing does not make property damage or attempted property damage legal.
I live in a State where just about everyone "carries." No one here gives anyone the finger!

No only the driver who threw something is at fault for taking it that far. Are they both acting immature? Sure. That doesn't give one the right to throw things though.

While the horn and the finger may both be offensive, they are not really wrong. The throwing something at the other car may be questionable, but for sure if they throw something that strikes the other car. they are in the wrong.
Just the same as if these two were not in their cars , but just walking down the street.

Not enough information but either way if you throw something at someone else's car you're usually a piece of ****. Unless they really really really deserved it. There is not enough information here but most likely both of you are pieces of ****.
