So, is Biden really going to stop subsidies on the oil industry?

Hope you like $6 a gallon gas, paying more for everything, and supporting countries that keep their oil industry going.

Stephen, what fuel do you plan to use?  There are no electricity trees.  So, oil, coal and gas power plants are out.  So you plan to heat and cool every home with wind and solar.  Then add onto that all the cars and trucks and th3n run all the industry and offices on wind and solar.

We are simply nowhere near capable of doing that...not even close.  Short of nuclear, we have no way to do it.

Update 2:

Furthermore,  I worked designing nuclear power plants.  Just the design phase of these projects takes ten years and there are a very limited number of people who can do this work.  Then, on top of that, you have to add on land acquisition,  permitting and construction.

Biden said in the debate he would get us net zero in four years two's ridiculous.

We would not have to support them if we just use less oil.

And the price of gas wouldn't matter if we got cars that didn't use it.

He certainly should. If you can’t afford $6 gas, perhaps you should get a real job or a bus pass.

I sure hope so ... Tell me why a multi billion dollar industry should need subsidized.

The days of oil use as the primary source for energy are numbered. The world sees the need to go green and it is transitioning in that direction. We can either be a leader in that arena or we can bring up the rear in it.

So, do we lead as we have been doing since WWII? Or, do we take a back seat to China and others in order to protect the titans of an industry that is destined to go the way of the horse and buggy?

If an industry needs to be subsidized, it's not worth keeping alive. There are real opportunities in renewables.

The actual facts are that without subsides so-called clean energy alternatives would never compete in the free market.  They are also much more susceptible to cronyism.  Let nobody forget the corrupt Soyndra fiasco. LOL

Maybe Ukraine will offer the US a discount if we buy all our oil and natural gas from them ?
