Is it true that staring at tablet, phone, computer or TV screens can make you blind? If so, how?

Some doctors say it's true, others say it's a myth, though who's right here?

Update:

Oops  I meant can screens like that do any sort of damage, including blindness.

Which 'doctor' is willing to state that?

    No. Not true.

    Not blind but nearsighted yes.

If you suffer an injury because you walk or drive into something because you are staring at a screen, you could go blind. The eye strain will not lead to blindness. The blue light exposure is minimal compared to what you get from the sun.

It will not make you blind, but it can cause eyestrain.

Blind?-- NO. But it definitely causes eye strain and isn't good for you long-term.

Since I got a phone 2 years ago, my vision has gone from 20-14 to 20-30.  Its worst addiction I've ever had.

    Research blue light.

    I wear blue blocker glasses.
