Are most people who vote Republican  people who've rarely been told no by their parents ?

They probably helped you with essential needs like food, clothes, hygiene, until you found your first job and they probably let you live with them rent free until you saved enough money to move out otherwise how would you afford the security deposit for an apartment? So you're not entirely self made you ******* liars, what would you do if they did deny you such things? You'd have no choice other than to try take advantage of services started by the Democrats wouldn't you?

  • It is absolutely amazing how Liberals miss the point of the term "self-made man/woman". NO ONE ever said that parents don't help the kids out at the beginning. Often it is with the basics, room and board, education and all the other things you mentioned (occasionally, they don't or can't with much of it). But THAT'S NOT what defines the term "self-made".

Your parents make it possible for you to get that job at Burger King, department store and/or that entry level position in the field you went to college to train for. They may have even prepared you with the proper attitude necessary for the mid-level job you will hopefully land a few years down the road. If you get there, you're still not "self-made", yet.

But for the top positions, that's almost exclusively YOU who determines if you get there or not, not your parents, not government programs. Most people do not. The "self-made" do. This is especially true if you chucked most of what you went to college for (if at all) to open up a software company or go into, let's say real estate that eventually earns you millions.

The "made" in "self-made" is that unique quality in an individual that allows them to see and attain opportunities others don't and gives them the drive to succeed others don't have.

Fun story bro, I grew up in a camper behind a car lot with a bathtub held up by cinderblocks as the floor was rotten. My father quit school in 6th grade to pick cotton because the men were in Europe fighting Nazis. Then I worked concrete construction labor to pay for a tech degree and used it to work a mechanic job to pay for tuition for a college degree.

Republicans believe in hard work because that is how they earned what they have.

    No.

    We were told no.

We weren't given new cars upon graduation.

My graduation party from high school in 1978 consisted of 10# of chipped ham in a roaster that turned into ham B.B.Q.s.

A keg of Rolling Rock beer that we killed.

Best of times, spoiled a z z Liberal!

The 8 track was cranking out Zeppelin!

    So sad to be YOU!

You are incorrect on all accounts. Most people vote Republican for two reasons.

    1) they believe in the party's platform.

    2) they do not believe in the Democratic Party's radical shift Left. They hold their noses and vote Republican.
