why is time so important each day 24 hours a day?

    Because it never stops, and you only get closer to dying as it continues.

    In life, you can't get or buy more of it.  You only have a finite amount.

    The importance of time is a cultural issue.  In much of Africa, the concept of time revolves around seasons, and not hours of the day.  In agricultural, planting season and harvest season are important; what happens in February is not important.  If you have an 8-hour-a-day job, that is why the hours of the day are important to you.
