Will banning gas cars help with the climate change problem?

Gov. Gavin Newsom is calling for California to ban new gasoline-fueled vehicles within 15 years in a bid to combat climate change.  Only new electric cars could be sold at that point.

If that were to happen world wide then yes. But there are other major sources of CO2 emissions that involve construction and energy production.

The issue is taking out of long term storage CO2 that has been locked out of the natural CO2 cycle for long time and adding it back in.

Probably not since that state is not significant on a global scale.  Not to mention there will be ways around it.

The Earth that we all live on is a very dynamic system!!!  From the Earth''s core to out in space everything changes . The mantle convects, The tectonic plates, move, (earthquakes) the oceans move. The air metorology moves, ; thereby climate changes. Our position in space relative to the Sun moves.

Some of these movements are quite fast and we can observe the cycle. Other movements are much slower and we do not observe a full cycle.  All these cycles interconnect, but we don't know how all these cycles interconnect.

The Earth's axial tilt some 23.5 degrees is slowly decreasing, this will affect climate and daylight. The Earth's orbital track around the Sun is NOT a circle , but an ellipse. This ellipse over thousands of years  changes from being narrow to almost circular, this will affect climate.

It is known through out geological history that the Earth has heated up and cooled down, has been arid and changed to wet conditions.

So banning gasoline fuelled vehicles will not combat climate change one little bit.  Yes!! it will probably make the air cleaner!!!!! and that's all it will do .

The help it will give is minimal. It is the big industries that are producing the most heat with all their burning.

As long as we continue to live an unsustainable lifestyle we will be in more and more trouble globally.

People before profits is the only way we will get out of the mess/crisis we have gotten ourselves into.

No. The climate is always changing, even before humans entered the scene. Also if we are looking at human pollution, the U.S. is far from the biggest offenders.

No---then you need MORE POWER PLANTS to generate the  energy electrically that had been produced by the gas.

And in a state where there are already Rolling blackouts and a reluctance to build MORE power plants-=----People are gonna have to walk or LEAVE.

This is all a big Socialist Scheme to trick people into getting rid of their cars.  __Something the Left has been wanting for decades---almost as much as Gun Control.

The point is to heard people into big cities where they are easier to CONTROL---Make it impossible to live in the suburbs or the country.    "Climate Change" is BOGUS anyway.    They also likely set the fires too to run off Country people.  And refuse to properly manage the forests (or allow it) just for the purpose..

SOMETHING EVERYONE IS MISSING.. You don't need to ban gas engines or try to tweak more mileage or worry about how burning oil pollutes.. There is only 45-55 years of oil left before all is used up.. In twenty five years gas will be $20+ a gal and maybe very hard to get.. Toward the end all prices for everything will skyrocket and probably lots of wars over the last oil... So don't worry too much about the climate and start worrying about how you are going to survive the BIG changes coming.. Don't believe me..? Do a little research.. BP study said 47 years..

Governor Nuisance is the worst kind of nuisance, and a nitwit to boot.  It wouldn't change our climate in any measurable way but these pathetic leftist trolls will do anything to virtue signal.  The retard was probably wearing a mask when he said it.

You'll have to ask Soros that question.
