Water is heated until it begins to boil. What will happen to the water if it continues to boil?

It will create a wormhole if you leave it too long. Be warned.

Source(s): I lost a friend to a boiling water wormhole. I truly miss him.

The pan / kettle will eventually boil dry!

  • It will evaporate.

    Um, it turns to vapor?

Do yourself  favor-NEVER try to cook.

If you really need to ask that then you shouldn't be doing any cooking and certainly not messing around with boiling water!

In an open pan, it will evaporate. In a pressure cooker, the temperature will elevate in excess of 250° F. If you turn off the cooker and let the temperature lower naturally you will not lose any water. If you let the pressure go down by opening a valve, part of the water will be lost as steam.

    It will eventually evaporate completely.

  • Water evaporates and turns to steam, your pan will go dry and get dangerously hot.

Water will boil at 212 degrees F (plain water, at sea level) the water will not get hotter than that so it will continue to boil until it has evaporated.
