Is a 55 inch TV alright for gaming?

I've owned a 27" monitor for 4 years mainly playing PS4 but I've wanted a bigger screen for when I'm watching movies or TV so I was looking into gaming TVs and found a great 55" one on offer. Then I saw a post about how bad it is playing on big screens and how you don't get much reaction time and it can strain your eyes and even give headaches.

Anyway I just wanted to ask if anyone has been in the sam situation or if anyone currently plays with a larger screen and whether they enjoy it or not.

Thanks

How far away from it are you sitting?

If 15 feet, no, it is too small

If 3 feet, yes, it is more than big enough

As for performance, go into the TV's settings and turn on Game mode.  It turns off things like frame interpolation (how 99.9% of TV's get 120 Hz or more) because the extra computation time kills good gaming.
