Why is the sky blue?

    due to the ozone. it traps suns deadly radiation rays and then it produces a glow around the side the sun is hitting and then it turns blue.

    It isn't. At night it's black with spots. A third of the daytime it's gray. Morning and evening it's orange. Add that all up, and it's only blue, like, a third of the time. Even when it's blue it's usually got white patches all over it.

    More to your point though, if you take oxygen and the other stuff in Earth's atmosphere and shine light through it, that's the color it makes. Other planets have different chemical makeups in their atmospheres, and so they make different colors.

    Because it would look bad to have a poo-coloured sky.

    Sunlight reaches Earth's atmosphere and is scattered in all directions by all the gases and particles in the air. Blue light is scattered more than the other colors because it travels as shorter, smaller waves. This is why we see a blue sky most of the time.
