Trump doesn’t seem to understand 97% of CA forests are federal; shouldn’t he blame himself and not CA government for poor management?

Update:

2 of you are still blaming CA government for how federal land is managed. I'm sorry, but the governor and other state officials make no decisions when it comes to the federal land. They can complain and even protest, but the Department of the Interior makes those calls; Trump appointed the secretary of the interior.

I think California would disagree with you. Do you want a dictator that can just give orders & that's that?

California's fear of the Sierra Club withholding political endorsement and therefore not cooperating with the federal forestry officials predates Trump by about four decades. Granted that Trump is no environmentalist. But the dead trees and dense undergrowth fueling the current CA fires have been a problem since state legislation in the 1970's made it impossible to cull the land and protect against such things. If you're really looking for an old white man to blame you need to be looking at former Governor Jerry Brown.

He won't say that because it doesn't fit his narrative
