Look for electrical use PLATE attached to each piece of equipment plugged into the power supply,

    Add them up.

If the number exceeds 75% of 1000 W, then you may have a problem.

Yes, at least twice what you need.

The RTX 3080 spec says it is 750W.

The 1000W Pwr Sup is Ok. It will run on 850W just fine.

It depends on the total watts your system will consume. Add them up. If it comes to 750 watts, you might be buying more than you need. If you plan to upgrade in the future, you may need that extra 250 watts someday.

  • probably  not  if  you  have  quads (four rtx-3080's side by side)?  am  sure  there's  purists  out  there  who  mod  their  environment  to  extremes.

Plug it in and see. If it explodes in a satisfying fizzle of blue smoke, then yeah, I guess it's too much, but at least you got an evening's entertainment out of it.
