What exercises are best to prepare yourself for skiing?

I broke my ankle a couple of months ago.  It was a bad break.  I was in a cast from my toes to upper thigh for 5 weeks.  I am now in a shorter cast for two more weeks.  With skiing season coming soon, i want to make sure my ankle is strong.

    Usually when casts are removed you see a physio.  My ankle was weak for many months , I often wore a support. I honestly don't believe you should be skiing this year.
