I don't know if Texas celebrates the anniversary, but here are the relevant dates:
The Texas annexation was the 1845 annexation of the Republic of Texas into the United States of America, which was admitted to the Union as the 28th state on December 29, 1845. The Republic of Texas declared independence from the Republic of Mexico on March 2, 1836.

There are some minor celebrations for March 2. Most people don’t bother.

The Republic of Texas was formed on March2 1836 and became a state on December 29, 1845. After the Mexican American War the Compromise of 1850 set Texas's boundaries at their present form.

The date Texas declared independence from Mexico was:
2, March 1836. But I don't think it's celebrated in Texas.

As fate would have it, when the date is July 4 in the United States it’s also July 4 in Texas. We use the same calendar as the rest of the country does.Source(s): Texan
