buy travelers cheque and use it for forex payment.

You can only write an Australian cheque (note the spelling of both words) in USD if you have a USD account at the bank and a cheque book attached to that account.  Otherwise you will need to do a wire transfer and forex conversion.

No. You can go to your bank for info on how to arrange electronic funds transfer from your bank account to another account abroad, or send wire transfer, or bank draft in the appropriate foreign currency. You might be able to use your credit charge (e.g. Visa, Mastercard, JCB, or other internationally recognized credit card system) to charge the purchase/whatever in US dollars, and the credit card will do the foreign exchange conversion & charge your card in Australian dollars.

Not if you want it cashed in Australia without large conversion costs.

    Note spelling 'Australian'.
