Which sentence is correct?

A. The girl went outside looking for her dog.

B. The girl went outside, looking for her dog.

Is the comma before "looking" necessary? Thanks!

Is correct. The comma is unnecessary. It is also correct. The comma would stress strong emotion. Right, but not needed

phrase A sounds wrong. I'd say something like "The girl went outside to look for her dog"

Phrase B indicates that she was looking for her dog, but went outside because she couldn't find the do inside

    It's probably not necessary.

Commas can change the meaning of a sentence, but, in this case, it's read more like a pause.
