Why is this "Prosperity Gospel" taking over the Beatitudes of Jesus, as the popular Christian church model?

Apparently there are a lot of people who want to hear "God wants you to be rich", as opposed to "God wants you to be Blessed."  BTW, I'd rather be blessed.

Modern US Christians love money far more than they love Jesus.

The prosperity gospel is a crock -- nothing Christian about it.

This evil cult arose in America, corrupting the gospel of Jesus Christ that is stated in the Bible. But Christians who know their Lord and His words of life are not fooled by it. Many millions of Christians in America despise this pseudo-Christian cult. But it has spread mainly to Africa, where gullible people are grasping at straws in their desperation to get lifted out of poverty, oppression and lack of education. They have simply swapped one set of chains for that of the Health & Wealth false prophets. Jesus and the apostles warned that it would be so.

That is why people need to read the Bible for themselves and stick to what Jesus and the apostles said, then they will recognize the deceptive twists those cunning, greedy men make. But they play on the biblical ignorance of the many. The less people bother to study God's word, the more they will be duped by wolves in sheep's clothing, who come in to draw people away after themselves. The New Testament is full of warnings about that. Why don't people pay attention to it, instead of flocking to hear bombastic men who entertain them with jokes and loud bands along with mantra-like gobble-de-**** yelling? It is incredible that any sensible (let alone Christian) person would fall for that rubbish.

Please note that most Christian churches stick to the model Jesus gave us and see this Health & Wealth movement for the satanic corruption that it is.

Because in this day and age, people come into the Christian faith for the wrong reasons, to seek after money and wealth and THINGS.  They suppose that godliness is a means of gain.  From such we Christians are to withdraw ourselves (1 Timothy 6: 5)  It's unfortunate but they have to realize that DECEPTION IS RIFE.  Jesus said it would be so in the final days.  Why don't they read the scriptures?  God has warned us AGAINST seeking after riches.  For godliness with contentment is great gain.  For we brought nothing into this world and it is for certain that we can carry nothing out, but having food and clothing, therewith we should be content.  But those who desire to rich, fall into temptation and a snare and into many foolish and harmful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

For the love of money is the ROOT of all EVIL, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.  BUT YOU O MAN OF GOD FLEE THESE THINGS and instead pursue - RIGHTEOUSNESS, GODLINESS, FAITH, LOVE, PATIENCE, GENTLENESS etc., etc., etc.,................ that we may lay hold on ETERNAL LIFE  (1 Timothy 6: 5-19).  Eternal life is MUCH more important than earthly riches.  Obviously many folks don't read the Bible which was given to us so that we would KNOW the truth and AVOID things which would get us sent to Hell instead of having the assurance of salvation in this life and in eternity.

EDIT:  I think you will find if you check, that Granny Norine who is called 'Wrath of God' and 'God is Angry' and 'His Wrath Brings Blood' and all the other nom-do-plumes she goes by these days - is a product of the Prosperity Gospel and look what it has turned her into - an absolute bully, who is arrogant, intolerant of everyone else, bossy, rude (she actually swears at Christians) and she is incredibly angry all the time because she cannot have her own way.  It's sad I think.  Norine actually believes all Christians should totally abandon, Holy Communion, Water Baptism, and the Trinity?  What is she thinking of?  Those are the main tenets of the Christian faith

You get more flies with honey than vinegar. Most people rather hear they can get rich from doing essentially nothing, praying. Rather than do the real work or the real work of spiritual pursuits.

2 Timothy 4:3-4 — For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths.
