Why do people always cite Billie Jean King's Battle of the Sexes win as some huge achievement?
King was 29 years old and in her prime. Riggs was practically a senior citizen at 55 years of age and had been retired for a decade and a half by the time the match happened. Why is this match hailed as huge feminist victory? If anything, it seems King should have beaten Riggs worse than she did.
A better example of a battle of the sexes was in 1998 when the Williams sisters faced the very mediocre tennis player named Karsten Braasch, and he clobbered them 6-1, 6-2.

He had beaten Margaret Court previously. This was on prime-time free-to-air television before you had cable. It got viewing audiences that tennis has never seen before or since. The match with the Williams sisters didn't get a sliver of the audience.

Didn't some drunk Australian who was #250 beat both Williams sisters in one day?

Because it was the first of it's kind.
