A duck is a bird, so it is avian.

Most ducks, geese and swans are classified in the family Anatidae, so they can be referred to as anatids.

Some species, called the screaming ducks, and some others still are excluded from the family Anatidae, but they are classified in the same order (Anseriformes) as ducks geese and swans. Therefore the term anseriform can be used to refer to all species in the entire order, including the screaming ducks.

  • Ducks belong to the Anatidae family, so maybe anatidine could suffice, though it's not an official term.
