Is the World Health Organization correct in saying that only ppl around the elderly and very young need to wear a mask? ?

They advise everyone else NOT wear a mask as its dangerous to the wearer.

It is not dangerous to the wearer.  Also, anyone who is around anyone adults should wear one.  Very small children seem to be almost immune to the virus.  Ironically, it's the very young (those younger than about 10) who are least at risk.

Another anti-masker quoting and misquoting outdated (April) WHO advice. The WHO was concerned at the time that their use could lead to a false sense of security and a lax approach to good hand hygiene and social distancing, which remain the most effective measures to prevent the disease spreading. Not that wearing a mask in itself was dangerous to the wearer. The WHO's latest (June) advice encourages people to wear non-medical (ideally triple-layer) fabric masks, especially in settings where physical distancing of at least one metre is not possible, such as on public transport, in shops or in other confined or crowded environments. It also suggests those over the age of 60 may wish to wear ‘medical’ masks.

I don't wear one cause I'm not around the elderly and young, or anyone with the Kung Flu.

Besides trump says if we have less than 200,000 deaths we will have done a very good job, and it's under 200,000.
