Should I trust this pop-up anti-virus?

It recently appears on the down right corner of my computer every time I browse the internet. I never asked for this.

What can I do about it?

You probably installed this by downloading some freeware that included this as a bundle. Next time when you install choose ‘custom install’ and uncheck the various pop ups that come bundled.

    To remove mcafee webadvisor

    Close all web browsers.

Click Start on the bottom left of your Windows desktop.

    In the search box:

    Type control panel.

    Press Enter.

    In the Control Panel:

Double-click Programs and Features or Add/Remove Programs.

Select McAfee WebAdvisor or McAfee SiteAdvisor from the programs list.

    Click Uninstall/Change or Remove.

    Restart your computer.

the pop-ups Could be triggered by a cookie buried somewhere in your HDD, so give it a good cleaning and throw-out ALL the cookies you find
