Christians, why does God save some people but not everyone?

The "why" is not answered in the Bible, other than saying it is to glorify God, yet it also says that the ultimate scenario is that everything in creation will glorify God, being restored to the perfect unity of God's initial creation, and purpose. This will be "through Christ, to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.... to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation, if you continue in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope held out in the gospel." (Colossians 1:15-23)

"God exalted [Christ] to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father" (Philippians 2:5-11)

Many gladly bend their knee in Jesus' name, but those who proudly refuse to do that now will find that at the end, they will do that. Unfortunately, that act of turning in faith to Christ has to be done in this life if, in the next, they are not to suffer eternal shame and anguish. The Bible and Jesus Christ are God's provisions now to save all who would repentantly turn in faith to His beloved Son.

people have to want to be saved, God does not choose people.

He wants to save everyone, which is why the gospel message is for everyone and people from all walks of life are welcome in church.  But He loves us so much that He gave us free will, to accept His love and to return this love, or to choose something else, if we please.  So the choice is for each person to make, everyday.

@Ann sham    _ You stated "The Bible and Jesus Christ are God's provisions now to save all who would repentantly turn in faith to His beloved Son." The bible stories are nothing but stories by men, and furthermore, you have to provide absolute evidence that a Jesus as mentioned in the NT actually existed; there is nothing in history that confirms your claims. The bible is a book of stories fed to the uneducated in the building of Judaism and Christianity- 2 religions that have no basis in realty. @Jeancommunicates - You are merely believes the fictional stories in a book of stories written by men for ulterior motives. Jesus is a non-sensible belief as there is no evidence in history to support such a belief.  @-Anonymous - You answer is nothing but religious nonsense.  @-Paul, you must be one confused believer; free will is fantasy, and just how cam one have free will to select his way in life when as you claim that god thingie will cast them into the hell you also think is real.  That is not free will; that is a communistic program where all must do as the dictator says, or die.  @ Snowbird - What are you saying?! Your answer is nothing but a belief, and why does he/it not save all people? Because the story would then have no meaning nor reason to have been written.  You offer nothing that would qualify as an understanding of reality, and the bible stories are just that, stories designed to fool the gullible. @Ernest S, your answer is as fanatical as always. If that story was true, all people would want salvation, but many know that story is a total lie upon which a false religion is built. The NT is a fictional story, using names of perhaps a few real persons likely dead at time of the writing. It is a phony a $17 bill. @  Anonymous; HUH! Another Anonymus? Anyway, you sound just like Ernest S, and you try to make an excuse to support your foolish claim that no everyone wants that, "salvation". Do you not see the uselessness of your statement?  They just happen to be people who do not allow foolishness to control their lives.

Salvation is between God and the person being saved.  Our Creator does not do anything unjustly or capriciously.

    Deuteronomy 32:4

4 The Rock, perfect is his activity,

For all his ways are justice.

    A God of faithfulness who is never unjust;

    Righteous and upright is he.

We choose to accept God's means of salvation - faith in Jesus Christ.  Jesus' witness to Nicodemus makes it very clear:

    John 3:16,17,33, 33

16 “For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, so that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life.

17 For God did not send his Son into the world for him to judge the world, but for the world to be saved through him.

33 Whoever has accepted his witness has put his seal to it that God is true.

36 The one who exercises faith in the Son has everlasting life; the one who disobeys the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains upon him.

He is all powerful and eternal but also fickle and jealous, because those things go together in an emotionally stable being.

God set all the laws of mankind and laws of nature.  Why should God save anyone who rejects His Son, Jesus the Christ, who was punished for our sins on the Cross of Calvary?  God sent us a Savior and if we reject the One whom God sent, Jesus the Christ, then you have no hope of Salvation.  God created you to please Him and if you ignore His words and reject His Son, then God has not further use for you.  Ask yourself, why would God want someone who rebels against Him in His perfect and wonderful Heaven?  It is time to start pleasing God by accepting His Son Jesus.

God loves every human being perfectly, and therefore equally. Therefore He desires the eternal happiness of every human being, which results from salvation. Therefore, He desires that every human being be saved. However, He created us with free will, the right to choose good or evil, to accept salvation or reject it. He has clearly revealed the way to accept that gift. The only ones who are not saved are those who refuse His offer.
