Hi, I just want to know how to properly use the words down/up in the phrase "walk down/up the corridor"? Can they be used interchangeably? ?

No one says walk "up" the corridor.

  • What the expressions mean is "walk along the corridor".   Usually, there's a convention that what's at one end of the corridor is more important than the other.  If you're walking towards the important end, you are walking up the corridor, and if you walk towards the less important end, you are walking down the corridor.  This is also the convention for "up" trains and "down" trains.

Yeah but most people say down. Unless it’s a sloping corridor
