A maternity bra stretches and supports as the breasts do tend to change sizes during pregnancy.  Regular bras might feel tight as the breasts change.  A maternity bra will change with the changing cup size.  The band may also stretch a little easier if needed.

A nursing bra is designed with easy to open cups to allow the bra to stay on and just the cup area is open for feeding the baby.

You can easily get through a pregnancy without getting a maternity bra.  You can manage by just buying a few bras of a slightly larger size when needed.  (probably much cheaper too)

If you are going to nurse - a few nursing bras will be very convenient - but also not truly "needed" all the time - when at home, a front latching bra will also work.  (not as good - but it is still easy to unhook all but the bottom hook and fold the cup back for access to the breast.

Basically - don't pay large amounts of money for items you are going to only use for a few months.  Consider the price and the options and get what is going to be best for you.  Just because you are pregnant or nursing does not mean that you MUST use "maternity" or "nursing" bras.  It just means those items may be more convenient or more comfortable.  But if your wallet can't afford it - you can use regular bras - just think about what size you believe you will need.

A maternity bra is for pregnant women to wear, while a nursing bra is made for breastfeeding.

Maternity bras are for pregnancy and nursing bras are for breastfeeding, though many maternity bras are designed to also be usable for breastfeeding. Maternity bras tend to be made of stretchy materials, so that they remain comfortable and wearable as breast size changes.

Maternity clothes are worn during pregnancy although I don't see the difference between wearing a 'maternity' bra and just getting a bigger one.  A nursing bra has flaps on the cup to make it easier to feed the baby.

A nursing bra comes undone at the straps to make it easier to breast feed
