Quite simply, "woke-ism" is Frankfort school critical theory put into practice.  All the identity politics and political correctness of today's Left (which includes feminism) come from this theory.

Classic Marxism described class conflict as the utmost oppressor in society.  Critical theory on the other hand is termed Cultural Marxism because it posits that the culture and its "power" structures are where the oppression comes from.  The problem with Cultural Marxism is that it is so elementarily implemented that entire groups of people are deemed "oppressors" or "victims" based on their immutable characteristics, notably race and sex, without any nuance, or vestige of reality in many instances.  As applied in modern society, Cultural Marxism promotes racism and sexism itself as the "cure" for it's idea of a problematic society. It's a complete setup for failure and further division of society, not harmony.

And as we too often see here, classic Marxists themselves apologize for Cultural Marxism using cultural Marxism's own denials, excuses and penchant to smear and shame the personal characters of those who dare to even bring any of this up for discussion.
