Should schools reopen this fall?

I think they should. Laura Ingraham said last week teacher unions want to keep schools closed until there’s a vaccine, which may be never. She asked if kids will be kept out of school forever.

Not an easy question to answer because the Facts needed to make the best decision keep being changed by the likes of Fauci who calms he is a "scientist". We are STILL learning about this Virus and we can easily see its behavior changes as it mutates.

What is a good choice today may be Wrong in 2 months.

The situations in dissimilar areas of the USA are different also. No school district will find their situation to be identical to what some proposed "National Recommendation" would be. Preparations should already be underway.

Some should open, some should not. But it is True that our children do NEED to associate with others and receive both education and they need to learn other benefits they can only get from such involvement directed by responsible adults.

It is up to each school district to choose what is best in their community and they must accept the fact that whatever they choose, the results won't be Perfect for every student. Life and the world we live in are not perfect.

Just more illogical BS from FOX and their BS support f Trump,  She is only an expert on propaganda for Trump and the Republicans.  She does not care if kids start spreading the virus.  They seem more able to fight off the virus than adults but INE dead child will bring 100,000 angry parents to vote against Trump and all Republicans involved in opening the schools with no safety plans.  10 dead kids nationwide and that is 1 million votes against Trump et al.

    Not as the norm.

Could they reopen with reduced class sizes, mandatory mask wearing, make the school day 4 hours and expand the school year to be year round, and massive student and teacher testing?

    Maybe.

Even though kids are less likely to die from covid they can still be carriers.

I do not think they should open until there is a viable vaccine available.

No. Opening schools is the best way to make sure COVID spreads even more to adults.

Laura Ingram ignores that other countries have successfully contained this. If she and her fellow republican cronies stopped peddling pseudoscience, misinformation, and bad polices, the virus could be contained to an acceptable level to allow schools to open. Florida just reported more cases than NY ever had in a day. The US has more people dead than all of the EU, despite the EU having a larger population. Why would we reopen?

For them to do so, now is the time to prepare the buildings for the students return. I hear some schools in other countries are planning on 10 per class approach in shifts.
