Really? Come on! Who would turn their wedding into a costume party? Markle was wearing a sack that needed at least 3 more fittings and someone else's body underneath. HM and Markle may have the same waist size, but, the similarities end there.

The Orthodox use wedding crowns the world over. Other than that, other denominations realise also that a bridal pair are king and queen for a day.

Brides across the English speaking world have been dressing as the British royals have for their weddings since 1838, when Victoria became the first bride to wear a white gown.

Everyone else that attends or is part of a wedding has by tradition worn their very best outfits (or gotten something brand new made) for a lot longer than that.

    Do they?

The practice probably dates farther back than Meghan Markle. Traditionally, for ALL Americans who wish it, the wedding day is the day that the bride is queen for the day.
