Did union soldiers view the confederate flag as a flag of heritage and patriotism like trump supporters claim?

    Link? Also, I have no idea. Maybe they did. Maybe they were just that respectful and tolerant.

    Not always but very well once in a while sometimes.

    They would have loved it. Trump hugged the US flag.  He would have f'd himself with the Confederate flag.

    The better question is why didn't The Union Army pay minority Soldier's a full wage like the CSA did!

    No, they probably viewed it as symbolizing an ideology that condones slavery, and a symbol of betrayal
