Why would prayer help me force an emotion that I don’t feel?

    lol, if you don't FEEL it, then i doubt you will pray in the first place. duh...

    Because you are to conform to that religion's ways. If it says you shouldn't do something, you shouldn't do it. You are supposed to lie to yourself, family and friends and act "good" and not bad. Lying is also wrong but lie to yourself long enough and you just might believe it. If you're born a boy then you must only be attracted to women and a girl should only like boys. Period. Everybody is exactly the same and if you don't feel that emotion you must be broken and need fixing, apparently via prayer. 

    If you missed it, that was sarcasm. I'm not sure why we are supposed to lie to ourselves and feel things foreign to us.
